Every child deserves love, learning, and a life of dignity.
For many families, Aruna Chetana is not just a school — it’s a second home filled with hope.
Here, children with multiple disabilities find acceptance, care, and purpose. Every therapy session, every smile, every kind gesture rebuilds confidence and restores hope — not only in the children but also in their families.
Aruna Chetana, a dedicated school for children with multiple disabilities, proudly marks 36 years of transformative service since its establishment on 5th December 1987. Founded through the pioneering efforts of the late Sri Ajit Kumarji of Hindu Seva Pratishthana, along with the support of parents and well-wishers, Aruna Chetana has grown into a beacon of hope and education for “Divyang” (special needs) children in Bangalore.
Your support helps children unlock skills and confidence through therapy and education.
Together, we create a nurturing space where every child can smile, learn, and live with dignity.
Operating under the auspices of Janatha Kalyana Nidhi Trust, and guided by Sri Vishvesha Tirtha Swamiji of Udupi Pejawar Mutt and Sri Sri Nirmalnandanatha Swamiji of Adi Chunchana Giri Math, the school began in a building generously donated by Smt. Indiramma, initially serving just five children.
Today, Aruna Chetana educates over 180 children, many from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, providing them with comprehensive education entirely free of cost. The curriculum includes:

Early Intervention Program and Pre-School Education

Enhancing mobility, strength, and daily living skills.

Helping children express and connect.

Fostering independence and confidence.

Ensuring every child receives balanced care and nourishment.

Building awareness and emotional resilience among families.
Each initiative is rooted in the belief that every child has a unique light — and with love and guidance, that light can shine bright.
Understanding the need for skill development as children grow, Aruna Chetana also runs a Vocational Training Centre. Located at Bhavu Rao Deshpane Smaraka Bhavan, Malleshwaram, the center equips students with practical skills such as:

Established 7 years ago, currently serving 20 children
Operating since 2014, supporting 22 physically challenged children
Aruna Chetana remains committed to empowering children with disabilities, helping them lead meaningful, independent lives through education, skill development, and compassionate care.
